MELINA MÖRSDORF

I met Maria Jepsen for DIE ZEIT in Husum. She is a German theologian who was the first female bishop in Hamburg from 1992 and resigned after an abuse scandal. She is considered to be an extremely liberal bishop who, during her tenure, was particularly committed to working for homosexual equality, interreligious dialogue, christian ecumenism, the rights of migrants, the homeless, drug addicts, prostitutes and people with HIV / AIDS.
